Enya – Orinoco Flow
The song was written by Enya Patricia Brennan and Irish poet Roma Ryan. “Orinoco Flow”, also released as “Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)”, is a song from Enya’s second studio album, Watermark (1988). The song was released on 3 October 1988 by WEA Records in the United Kingdom as the first single from the album with “Out of the Blue” on the B-side (by Geffen Records in the United States in 1989). “Orinoco Flow” topped the UK Singles Chart for three weeks. It reached #1 also in Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and on Eurochart Hot 100. In the United States, the song peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Orinoco Flow” received two Grammy Award nominations: for Best Music Video and Best New Age Performance.
The music video was directed by Michael Geoghegan. In 1998, a special-edition 10th-anniversary remix single was released.
